Squeaking in just before the deadline again, that's my eleventh game of the year finished. And it's a really bloody nice too :D
The colours in the video are a bit washed out for some reason - the actual game looks more like this:
A bit more colourful!
So, there's just one more to go before the finish now, and being December there's only one place to take this : Christmas theme! December's game will be Brown Christmas, in which an angry Santa takes revenge on the naughty kids - by leaving a rather unexpected "present" in their stockings...

Finally got a chance to make a start on November's game this weekend, and so far it's going rather nicely.
Saturday was mostly spent updating the vector graphics code from Candy Casle Chaos to use GL2, meaning with a bit of luck I might get to start playing with some shader effects this time around. With that sorted (and CCC's menu screen appropriated to get things up and running), I spent a few hours today getting the basics of the game in place. So far it looks a bit like this.
If I can find a couple of hours this week to start putting some enemies in, this should be approaching playable pretty quickly :)

So yeah, that's game number ten in the bag. Just two more to go and I'll have beaten this ridiculous self-imposed burden and be free again!
Looks like I made a good call when I decided to go with something less content heavy for this month. As it turned out I didn't end up with a whole lot of time to work on it, so having a pretty much fully working prototype up and running in the first weekend was a major bonus.
I'm well into the home stretch now with just two more games to go. December I've already got planned, but I don't want to spoil the surprise just yet. For November? Well I'm really pleased with how well the heavily saturated vectors and particle frenzy worked out this month so I'm thinking of staying in the same style. And what's the undisputed king of the vector games?
Given the time constraints, it's obviously going to be a lot closer to the original than the psychedelic loveliness of TxK, but I reckon I should be able to make a fairly decent stab at it nontheless.
